Are you a passionate, patient, and caring individual looking to make a meaningful difference in a child’s life? Education World is currently recruiting for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at a welcoming primary school in the Washington area.
About the Role:
This is a full-time role, working school hours (Monday to Friday), supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis who requires tailored, consistent support throughout the school day. You will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to help the pupil achieve their full potential in a nurturing learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND (specific needs will be discussed at interview)
- Assist with classroom tasks, learning activities, and emotional regulation
- Help implement and adapt the pupil’s Individual Education Plan (IEP)
- Build positive relationships with the pupil, staff, and parents/carers
- Encourage independence and promote inclusive education
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children with SEND (preferred but not essential)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Empathetic, resilient, and reliable
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team
- Relevant TA qualification or willingness to learn on the job
